Sometimes I take photography too seriously. I want the perfect pose, with the perfect expression, and the perfect lighting. While that is all fine and good, it can be, well, exhausting.
So I set out to create a shoot that would leave me invigorated rather than exhausted. I headed out to the dollar store and bought a couple packets of confetti, stripped down my bed, and let my toddler loose. Then I just focused on letting the whole thing unfold organically.
The pictures are definitely not my best work from a technical standpoint, but they brought a smile to my face. Isn’t that what’s important, anyway?
My toddler had a blast with this. She jumped, she threw, she twirled…
The baby was not impressed.
(And don’t worry… no confetti was eaten during the creation of these photos. Tulle on the other hand…)
