You know that line in The Princess Diaries (come on, don’t pretend like you haven’t seen it!) where Mia looks at her reflection in the mirror and says, “As always, this is as good as it’s going to get” in reference to her tragic reflection? Okay, confession time… how many of us think roughly the same thing when we check the mirror before heading out for the day? I know I do!
What I love about glamour/beauty photography is that enables women who have that “as good as it’s going to get” attitude, to flip that attitude upside down and make them think, “Wow… I didn’t know I could look THIS GOOD!” Then something beautiful happens. After having this model- like experience where they get their hair and makeup done, have a gorgeous photo shoot, and an all around fabulous time, their attitude changes. They realize they CAN look just as good, if not better, than any woman on tv or in a glossy magazine, but they CHOOSE instead to focus not on beautifying themselves every day, but on making the world a more beautiful place. And that to me, is a beautiful thing.
A couple weeks ago, I had the chance to photograph this lovely lady. We did some classic beauty shots as well as a few shots I’ve had spinning around in my head for a while, but hadn’t had the opportunity to try. We had a blast! In fact, I had SO much fun that I’ve decided to offer mini glamour sessions for the month of February!
